National Certificate: IT: End-User Computing

Full-Time I SAQA ID: 49077 I NQF Level: 3 I Credits: 130 I Course Type: National Qualification

Computer wizards that can transform confusing software into user-friendly experiences will create a well-designed career with the National Certificate: IT: End-user Computing..

Why this course is perfect for you?

Do you understand the 'ins' and 'outs' of computer technology? Are you a good communicator who enjoys teaching others how to operate a PC system? If so, scroll towards a successful career in the field of End-user Computing.

An end-user is a person who uses or is intended to use a software product on a day-to-day basis. Unlike a 'user' who creates a product, most end-users typically don't have the same level of technical understanding to make full use of a product, and have been known to become frustrated with their purchase over time. As a result they require End-User Technicians, who in the IT environment are no longer the customers, but the employees of the 'customer', teaching them how to use the products they've purchased. In a business, End-User computing can range in complexity from technicians simply clicking a series of buttons to making a system more user-friendly for staff and improving networks, to writing scripts in a controlled scripting language and modifying and executing private code.

Individuals who enter this field must have the ability to learn from experience and apply that knowledge to future troubleshooting situations. This programme teaches all the fundamentals and IT principles of computers, and empowers learners to excel confidently in the digital world of End-user Computing.
